The Seven Deadly Sins are really attitudes that underlie sins, whether mortal or venial, first identified by St. John Cassian ( – ) in his Conferences and refined by Pope St. Gregory the Great ( – ). They provide keys to understanding our faults and the actions that result, and a framework for self knowledge. No one denies that the world is full of problems. Every person, every family, every church, every organization, and every nation—of every era—faces conflict, strife, and turmoil of one kind or anothe.

The third of these seven great destructive sins is killing the life which Allah has forbidden except for a just cause (i.e. according to Islamic law): Killing the life without a just cause is a crime that causes disorder and chaos in the society/5(22). This is one of the sins of the Government: that it authorizes landlords to steal and stands in with the thieves. Now take another example: the Greenbackers[4] are all agreed that the national bank money monopoly is an evil, and what they say is perfectly true.

"We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses." (Nehemiah ) Nehemiah had such a great burden for his nation that, although he himself had not been guilty of their sins, he was willing to confess their sins as his own, if God would only restore them to the Promised Land.
